REUBEN HOCH (DRUMS)

Drummer, Reuben Hoch, was born in New York in 1959. As a young musician, he studied with some of New York's finest teachers. He was inspired by Art Blakey at age 14. At age 19 he was already playing professionally on the New York jazz scene with some of Blakey's sidemen the likes of David Schnitter, Valerie Ponomaerev and Lonnie Plaxico.

 

He lived in Tel Aviv from 1984-1988 and was one of the founding members of The Zaviot Jazz Quartet. His

credits include recording and performing with; Dave Liebman, Greg Osby, Jeff Andrews, Jim Pepper, Wallace Roney, Ed Schuller, Don Friedman, Leni Stern, Christoph Spendel, Zaviot, West End Avenue Jazz Quartet, Reuben Hoch and Repercussions, The RH Factor, Reuben Hoch and Time, The Chassidic Jazz Project, The Miami Jazz Quartet,The Bobby Lee Rodgers Trio and Adrenaline Jazz.
